'मिडिल' किसी अख़बार के संपादकीय पृष्ठ का एक अभिन्न हिस्सा होता है।

The 'middle' is an integral part of the editorial page of a newspaper.

यह संपादकीय पृष्ठ के अग्रलेख यानी संपादकीय, शीर्ष पर छपने वाले मुख्य लेख और नीचे छपने वाले पाठकों के पत्र के बीच में छापा जाता है, इसलिए इसे 'मिडिल' कहा जाता है।  

It is printed in between the editorial, the main article appearing at the top and the reader's letter appearing at the bottom hence it is called 'middle'.

 

'मिडिल' का उद्देश्य
Purpose of 'Middle'

·        संपादकीय पृष्ठ एक गंभीर पेज माना जाता है।

The editorial page is considered a serious page.

·        इस पर विचारोत्तेजक संपादकीय, शिक्षाप्रद व ज्ञानवर्धक लेख और पाठकों के पत्र होते हैं।

It consists of suggestive editorials, educative and informative articles and letters from readers.

·        इनमें वे अपनी समस्याएं और चिंताएं व्यक्त करने के साथ ही समकालीन मुद्दों पर अपनी राय जाहिर करते हैं।

In this, they express their problems and concerns as well as express their opinion on contemporary issues.

·        इस प्रकार के गंभीर पेज में 'मिडिल' का काम थोड़ा हास्य पैदा करना, चुटकी लेना, व्यंग्य करना होता है।

In this type of serious page the job of the 'middle' is to create a little humour, quip, satire.

·        इस प्रकार 'मिडिल' अपने हास्यबोध व चातुर्य से संपादकीय पेज की गंभीरता को संतुलित करने का काम करता है।

Thus 'Middle' works to balance the seriousness of the editorial page with its humor and tact.

·        यह पाठक को सूचना देने के साथ ही उसे मुस्कराने और किसी मुद्दे पर कचोटने का काम करता है।

It gives information to the reader as well as makes him smile and prank on some issue.

 

'मिडिल' की प्रकृति
The nature of 'middle'

'मिडिल' की लंबाई करीब 400 शब्दों की रखी जाती है।

The length of 'middle' is kept around 400 words.

यह आमतौर पर संपादकीय पृष्ठ के दो लेखों के बीच स्थित होता है।

It is usually located between two articles on the editorial page.

'मिडिल' की शब्द सीमा इसके लेखन को मुश्किल बनाती है।

The word limit of 'middle' makes its writing difficult.

'मिडिल' के लिए लेखक सामान्यतः किसी सामयिक विषय को उठाता है।

For 'middle' the author usually raises a topical subject.

इसके बाद वह उस विषय को विनोदपूर्ण स्पर्श प्रदान करता है और इसका समापन एक पंच लाइन के साथ करता है। इससे पाठक को एक हास्यपूर्ण या व्यंग्यपूर्ण यात्रा का एहसास होता है।

He then adds a humorous touch to the subject and ends with a punch line. This gives the reader a sense of a humorous or satirical journey.

'मिडिल' लेखक को भाषा के उपयोग की पूरी स्वतंत्रता होती है। इसके लेखन में कोई पत्रकारीय प्रतिबंध नहीं होते हैं।

The 'middle' writer has complete freedom in the use of language. There are no journalistic restrictions in its writing.

चूंकि यह लेखक के रचनात्मक मस्तिष्क की उपज होता है, इसलिए 'मिडिल' के लेखक को बिल्कुल बोलचाल वाले और देशी शब्दों के उपयोग की भी अनुमति होती है।

Since it is a product of the creative mind of the writer, the author of 'middle' is also allowed to use absolutely colloquial and native words.

हालांकि लेखक को यह सुनिश्चित करना होता है कि भाषा के प्रयोग में मर्यादा और शिष्टाचार भी बना रहे।  

However, the writer has to ensure that the use of language also maintains decorum and etiquette.

बदलती रुचियों और अच्छे 'मिडिल' लेखकों की कमी के कारण अखबारों में अब 'मिडिल' गुमनामी में खोते जा रहे हैं।

Due to changing tastes and lack of good 'middle' writers, the 'middle' in newspapers are now being lost in oblivion.

अपने संपादकीय पृष्ठ पर नियमित रूप से 'मिडिल' छापने वाले अखबारों ने अब 'मिडिल' छापना कम कर दिया है। वे इसकी जगह अन्य कॉलम छाप रहे हैं।

Newspapers that regularly print 'middle' on their editorial pages have now reduced the print of 'middle'. They are printing other columns instead.
