पृष्ठ सज्जा (लेआउट) के सामान्य नियम
पृष्ठ सज्जा के सामान्य नियम निम्नलिखित हैं-
संतुलन (बैलेंस)
पृष्ठ
सज्जा में पृष्ठ पर लगी विभिन्न खबरों और चित्रों के बीच एक संतुलन रखना जरूरी
होता है। जैसे कि चित्रों को किसी एक हिस्से में लगाने के बजाय ऊपर-नीचे, दाएं-बाएं एक संतुलन
बनाकर लगाया जाता है। यदि सारे चित्र पृष्ठ के ऊपरी हिस्से में लगा दिए जाएं तो
नीचे वाला हिस्सा खाली रह जाता है और पृष्ठ सुंदर नहीं लगता। इसी प्रकार यदि
ज्यादा चित्र नीचे वाले हिस्से में लगते हैं तो पृष्ठ इस प्रकार दिखाई देता है
जैसे किसी गाड़ी को उलट दिया गया हो।
फोकस (फोकस)
इसके
तहत समाचार सामग्री को इस प्रकार से लगाया जाता है कि पाठक प्राथमिकता से उन्हीं
समाचारों को पहले पढ़े, जिन्हें पत्रकार पहले पढ़वाना चाहता है। इसके लिए पृष्ठ की
सबसे महत्वपूर्ण खबर को सबसे प्रमुख स्थान (ऊपर बाएं या दाएं) पर सबसे मोटे शीर्षक
के साथ लगाया जाता है। इसी तरह किसी रोचक खबर को बॉक्स के अंदर प्रस्तुत किया जाता
है ताकि पाठक की नजर तुरंत उस खबर पर पड़े।
विरोधाभास- (कंट्रास्ट)
पृष्ठ
को आकर्षक बनाने के लिए कंट्रास्ट यानी विरोधाभास का भी प्रयोग जरूरी है। इस
प्रकार का विरोधाभास रंगों का विरोधाभास हो सकता है। यह विरोधाभाश लंबवत और
क्षैतिज खबर का भी हो सकता है।
संगति- (हार्मोनी)
समाचारों
को पृष्ठ पर सजाने में संगति या हार्मोनी का ध्यान रखना भी जरूरी है। किसी पृष्ठ
पर एक परत या लेयर में लगे समाचारों में यदि शुरू का समाचार दो कॉलम का है तो उसके
बाद एक कॉलम का समाचार लगाकार फिर से दो कॉलम का समाचार लगाया जाता है जो
बाएं-दाएं सगति बनाने का काम करता है।
गति- (मोशन)
इससे
यह तात्पर्य है कि पृष्ठ सज्जा इस प्रकार से होनी चाहिए कि उसमें एक गति नजर आए
यानी पाठक जब पृष्ठ पर नजर घुमाए तो उसकी नजर गति में कहीं रुकावट न पैदा हो। वह
खबर या खबरों को एक तरफ से देखता या पढ़ता हुआ दूसरी तरफ चला जाए और इस प्रक्रिया
में कोई व्यवधान पैदा न हो।

पृष्ठ सज्जा के प्रमुख बिंदु इस प्रकार हैं-
सुरुचिपूर्ण सजावट
दृश्यात्मक प्रभाव सुरुचिपूर्ण सजावट का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण अंग है। पत्र/पत्रिकाएं ब्लीड पिक्चर्स और क्राप्ड पिक्चर्स की तकनीक का सहारा लेते हुए दृश्यात्मक प्रभाव उत्पन्न करने की हरसंभव चेष्टा करती हैं।
प्रयोग के स्तर पर ‘ब्लीड पिक्चर्स’ ऐसे चित्र हैं जो उस पन्ने से बड़े होते हैं जिन पर वे छापे जाते हैं। ऐसी स्थिति में चारों ओर से ट्रिमिंग पद्धति द्वारा उन्हें ‘एडजस्ट’ किया जाता है।
दूसरी ओर क्राप्ड पिक्चर्स ऐसी तस्वीरों को कहते हैं जिनके कमजोर हिस्से को हटाने के लिए उन तस्वीरों की क्रापिंग करनी पड़ती है। इस प्रक्रिया में चित्र के सबसे रोचक, प्रासंगिक और नाटकीय पक्ष को उभारने का प्रयास किया जाता है।
पाठकों को आकर्षित करने की क्षमता
प्रतिस्पर्धी पत्र/पत्रिकाओं से भिन्नता वाली आधार-सामग्री (जैसे पत्र का लोगो, डेटलाइन, पंचलाइन, फ्लैग, इयर्स, हेड रूल, मास्ट हेड) बिना किसी फेरबदल के प्रकाशित की जाती है। इससे समाचार पत्रों की भीड़ में उसकी एक पहचान बनती है और पाठक एक नजर में ही पहचान लेता है कि फलां अखबार जागरण है, अमर उजाला है या हिन्दुस्तान है। पृष्ठों का प्रोफाइल भी उसे अन्य अखबारों से अलग करता है। जैसे किसी अखबार में खेल पेज अंतिम पृष्ठ होता है तो किसी में देश-विदेश की खबरें अंतिम पृष्ठ पर होती हैं।
पर्याप्त खाली जगह
पृष्ठ सज्जा में व्हाइट स्पेस को अक्सर निगेटिव स्पेस के रूप में व्यक्त किया जाता है। यह पेज का वह हिस्सा होता है जिस पर कोई सामग्री नहीं होती है। यह मार्जिन, गटर और कॉलम, टाइप लाइन, ग्राफिक्स, चित्रों के बीच का स्थान होता है। यह डिजाइन का बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण तत्व है। पॉजीटिव (नॉन व्हाइट) और निगेटिव (व्हाइट) स्पेस का संतुलन सुरुचिपूर्ण पेज मेकअप की कुंजी कहा जाता है।
सही टाइप का चुनाव
लेआउट में सही टाइप का चुनाव भी महत्वपूर्ण है। सैकड़ों फोंट्स के बीच में सही फोंट टाइप का चुनाव आसान नहीं है। इसमें इस बात का ध्यान रखना पड़ता है कि फोंट टाइप न केवल देखने में सुंदर हो बल्कि दूसरे समाचार पत्रों से अलग भी हो। इसके साथ ही वह ज्यादा स्थान घेरने वाला भी न हो।
बॉक्स, ग्राफिक्स, फोटोग्राफ का सही चुनाव
पेज पर लगे बॉक्स, फोटोग्राफ और ग्राफिक्स पेज की सुंदरता बढ़ाने में बेहद महत्वूर्ण योगदान देते हैं। बहुत ज्यादा बॉक्स का प्रयोग करने से भी पेज की सुंदरता नष्ट होती है। इसी प्रकार फोटो की गुणवत्ता और उनकी संख्या का भी लेआउट में ध्यान रखना पड़ता है। फोटोग्राफ की अनुपस्थिति में ग्राफिक्स उनकी कमी पूरी करने का काम करते हैं।
रंग-संयोजन
पेज लेआउट में रंग संयोजन बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण कारक है। किसी गलत रंग का चुनाव पेज की डिजाइन को बर्बाद कर सकता है। टेक्स्ट का रंग बैकग्राउंड के रंग के विपरीत (कंट्रास्ट) होना चाहिए। तीसरी पीढ़ी के लेआउट में टाइपोग्राफिक और विजुअल लेआउट के सिद्धांतों के मिश्रण का प्रयोग होता है।
नवीनता और विविधता
पेज लेआउट में हमेशा कुछ नया और अलग हटकर करने की कोशिश की जाती है। रोजाना एक ही प्रकार का पेज मेकअप एकरसता उत्पन्न करता है।

Balance
In page layout, it is important to keep a
balance between the various news and pictures on the page. The pictures are
applied by making a balance in the top-bottom, right-left rather than in any
one part. If all the images are placed in the upper part of the page, then the
bottom part is left blank and the page does not look beautiful. Similarly, if
more images appear in the lower part, then the page appears as if a cart is
reversed.
Focus
Under this, news content is put in such a way that
the reader can read the news according to the priority. For this, the most
important news on the page is put in the most prominent place (top left or
right) with the larger title. Similarly, interesting news is presented inside
the box so that the reader's notice immediately falls on that news.
Contrast
In order to make the page attractive, it is
also necessary to use contrasts i.e. contradictions. This type of contradiction
can be a contradiction of colours. This contradiction can be of vertical and horizontal
news too.
Harmony
Consistency or harmony is also important for
decorating the news on the page. If starting news in a layer on a page is of
the two columns then after one column is, the news of two columns is placed
again. This helps to create left-right harmony.
Motion
This means that the page should be layout in
such a way that it has a motion in it. It means when the reader turns his
attention on the page, his eyes should not have any obstruction. He/she should see
or read the news from one side and go on the other side and there is no
interruption in the process.

Elegant decoration
In
this, visual effect is very important.
Newspapers and magazines make every effort to create visual effects with
the help of the technology of bleed pictures and cropped pictures.
At the level of experiment, bleed
pictures are the images that are larger than the pages on which they are
printed. In such a situation, they are adjusted by the trimming system around
them.
On the other hand, cropped pictures
are such pictures, which have some weak parts and that weak parts are removed
by cropping. In this process, we try to highlight the most interesting,
relevant and dramatic side of the picture.
The ability to attract readers
Various variations from competing
newspapers/ magazines (often the content of the paper published regularly in
the newspaper like logo, dateline, punchline, flag, ear, head rule, mast
head etc) are published without any modifications. This creates an identity in
the crowd of newspapers and the reader recognizes that the newspaper is
Jagaran, Amar Ujala or Hindustan. The profile of pages also separates them from
other newspapers. For example, in some newspaper, the sports page is the last
page, but there are national and international news on the last page in other
newspaper.
Ample white space
In page layout, white space is
often referred to as negative space. It is the portion of
a page left unmarked: margins, gutters, and space between
columns, lines of type, graphics, figures, or objects drawn or depicted. It is
an important element of design which enables the objects in it to exist at all;
the balance between positive (non-white) and negative spaces is key to aesthetic composition.
Choose the right type
The choice of the right type in the layout is
also important. It is not easy to choose the correct font type for
the newspaper among hundreds of fonts. It needs to be kept in mind that the
font type is not only beautiful but also different from others. Along with
this, it should not be too much occupant.
The right choice of box, graphics, photograph
Boxes, photographs and graphics on the page make extremely
important contributions to enhancing the beauty of the pages. Using too much
box also destroys the beauty of the page. Similarly, the quality of the photo
and their number also need to be kept in mind. In the absence of a photograph,
the graphics work to complete their shortcomings.
Colour combination
Colour is an important element in page
layout. A poor choice of colour may ruin the whole page's
design. The text color must contrast well with the
background colour. A third generation page is a combination of
typographic and visual layout principles with a creative design.
Innovation and variety
In
page layout, we should always try something new and different in everyday. The same type of page
makeup everyday creates monotony.
